We had so much running around to do last night. A nearby pizza place was holding a Campus School night and offered to donate 20% of every purchase to Jesse's school. So we went and saw lots of school/neighborhood folks. But our little homebody was ready to get back to his video games and TV afterwards and threw a fit when he realized that our outing wasn't over. I needed to return one of the two pairs of silver shoes I'd bought for April's wedding (DORK!), and we really needed to pick up a few groceries to get us through the rest of the week.

The ride from the pizza place to Macy's was filled with Jesse's cries of "Why can't you just drop me and dad off first?" and "I don't want to go anywhere else!" and "I'm thirsty!" Except much louder. And I found myself wishing he'd just go ahead and go through puberty, because I don't know how much longer I can take his high-pitched voice. But I was determined not to let him push my buttons and tried to make light of the whole thing.

"WHY CAN'T WE GO HOME!?!"
"Because this is so much fun."
"I WANT TO GO HOME!!!"
"I want a pony. What do you want SkooterPie?"
"Right now, I want to be deaf."
"WAAAAAAHHHHHH!"
