An open letter to Andre Allen

Dear, Andre.
I just wanted to take a minute to apologize for all the criticisms I've had about your shooting abilities this season. Don't get me wrong. You're great on defense, and you have forced a lot of crucial turnovers during the season. Offensively, you're a decent sub for Darius Washington. You've got a lot of heart. You have to have a lot of spirit as a walk-on player. You've had some great assists this year. But whenever I see you start to take a shot, especially from three-point range, I close my eyes. During a game, I've often been heard to yell: Don't shoot, Andre. Don't shoot. And I wouldn't hesitate to tell anyone my biggest criticism of you: Andre can't shoot. I only got to watch bits and pieces of the game on Friday (because, like your mom, I had to work), but at one point in the first half I saw that we were down by four and I was freaking. A few minutes later I checked back in at our TV in the breakroom, and suddenly we were dominating again. "Who went on a run?" I asked a colleague. He didn't know. So I didn't know until this morning that it was you. Andre! I shook my head in disbelief. By scoring three three-point shots in less than two minutes, you turned the game around for us. I wish I could have seen that. The daily touted your performance with this headline on the front of the sports section: "Andre the Giant." Congratulations, man! And, dude, I was wrong about you.
